The Cosmetic Department is one of the most vibrant, fast paced and largest earning potential departments at Macy's. The Cosmetics Counter Manager's primary responsibility is to drive line customer service and sales through effective recruitment and development of Beauty Advisors and execution of merchandising and department standards. With extensive selling and product training, our Counter Managers, in partnership with their Beauty Advisors, practice superior selling techniques through advanced product knowledge and OUTSTANDING customer service. Our Counter Managers and their Beauty Advisors personally assist customers in makeup and skin care selections and participate in the execution of special events/promotions to achieve personal and team selling and service goals. As a Counter Manager, you will be assigned to manage and develop the business of one of our prestigious cosmetics lines. Your opportunities for career advancement are endless! Qualities we look for… Customer service and selling priority Drive to meet and exceed performance expectations and goals Teamwork oriented with the ability to work in a learning environment Can lead by example through strong leadership to create a positive selling environment through teamwork so counter meets or exceeds sales and Star Reward credit program standards Excellent management and organizational skills - ability to maximize business-driving opportunities through effective management and execution of events and promotions Ability to build and maintain strong vendor partnerships in order to maximize business results Ability to develop and motivate others Ability to utilize solid analytical skills to recognize and communicate business opportunities to Department Sales Manager, including deficiencies in basic stock, receipt of promotional items and identification of business driving opportunities Flexible & dependable with a willingness and ability to enthusiastically step into whatever role is needed for the benefit of the team/counter and to work varying schedules including nights and weekends What you need to do to succeed We're looking for someone with prior selling experience; prior supervisory experience helpful Have a desire to learn about products through vendor seminars and other learning experiences Be able to effectively train, coach and develop new and incumbent associates; ensure counter participation at vendor training seminars Have ability to foster a quality work environment through leadership by example, ongoing Associate recognition, timely resolution of Associate conflict and motivational tactics to drive sales and client development.
