Salary Grade 12
$17,689 - $22,513

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc has an immediate temporary part-time (.5 FTE) opening for a Video Library Coordinator at the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a minimum of one year experience in a public customer service environment or one year experience as a Library Clerk. Candidate should possess:

• Ability to function independently;
• Creativity and solid organizational skills;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Experience in a "customer service" environment;
• Excellent Computer data entry skills; and
• Familiarity with education requirements/programs for addictions professionals.

Responsibilities:

The candidate selected will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the NYS Gene Hester Video Library Account and will function under the supervision of a Staff Development Specialist. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works with supervisor to develop and operationalize a marketing and distribution plan which takes advantage of currently available technology to increase accessibility to the library materials.
• Distributes library materials in a timely manner in accordance with library subscriptions and individual requests.
• Ensures that all library materials are in serviceable condition.
• Provides the best possible service to customers of the library.
• Prepares marketing materials using computer software that will aid in the layout and design of publications.
• Reviews inventory and removes worn, defective or outdated media from service on a regular basis.
• Maintains a computerized invoice system and ensures all records are accurate and data is entered in a timely manner.
• Follows proper procedures in the receipt, logging, data entry and transmittal of checks and/or money orders.
• Reconciles records on a monthly basis with the Finance Unit.
• Makes follow-up contact with customers who fail to return library materials within the allotted timeframe.
• Prepares and transmits customer correspondence in a courteous and professional manner.
• Contacts producers and distributors of chemical dependency-related educational materials on a regular basis and reviews catalogs for current materials.
• Arranges for previews of appropriate subject matter media.
• Negotiates with vendors to secure the best possible price and shipping costs for media purchases.
• Inputs appropriate data in an accurate and timely manner so that the most current information is available to the public electronically.
• Executes related special projects and other duties as needed and assigned.
