Our Scribe position (also called Clinical Information Manager) provides you with the opportunity to work side by side with an emergency department physician, creating and maintaining patients' medical records. As a scribe, you will: • Take accurate notes while witnessing the physician-patient encounter or while receiving dictation from the physician • Transcribe clinical information into the computer to create an electronic physician note, in real time, for every patient evaluated by the physician • Obtain and organize clinical test results to present to the physician for review • Select appropriate service/procedural codes for each physician note This is an outstanding opportunity for Pre-med/Med students, Nursing students, Physician Assistant students, EMTs, or any other candidates interested in a career in health care. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED; computer/typing proficiency; knowledge of medical terminology and experience volunteering or working in the health care field; excellent note-taking, listening, and communication skills (written and verbal); and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
