Our Scribe position (also called Clinical Information Manager) provides you with the opportunity to work side by side with an emergency department physician, creating and maintaining patients' medical records. As a scribe, you will: Take accurate notes while witnessing the physician-patient encounter or while receiving dictation from the physician Transcribe clinical information into the computer to create an electronic physician note, in real time, for every patient evaluated by the physician Obtain and organize clinical test results to present to the physician for review Select appropriate service/procedural codes for each physician note This is an outstanding opportunity for Pre-med/Med students, Nursing students, Physician Assistant students, EMTs, or any other candidates interested in a career in health care. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED; computer/typing proficiency; knowledge of medical terminology and experience volunteering or working in the health care field; excellent note-taking, listening, and communication skills (written and verbal); and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
